I think there is a myth about the American Dream - that we are taught in early childhood. The challenge is: does the myth meet one's expectations? As the global economy emerges we are seeing that other systems also work for other cultures and countries - and that in itself may be confronting to a nationalistic belief such as the "American dream'.
